We work with children from birth through to 18 years of age. If you have any concerns about your child’s speech, language, feeding, or social communication, it’s best to seek advice early. Early intervention helps children build strong communication foundations and prevents small challenges from becoming bigger hurdles later on.
Session length depends on your child’s diagnosis, goals, therapy approach and attention level.
We offer 30, 45 and 60 minute sessions, and your speech pathologist will recommend the most appropriate option after your child’s initial assessment.
Some children benefit from weekly sessions, while others (for example, those with complex needs) may attend twice weekly for a period of time to maximise progress.
Every child’s journey is unique.
The number of sessions required depends on factors such as your child’s age, diagnosis, family participation, practice between sessions, and overall progress toward their goals. For example, children with mild speech sound difficulties may reach their goals within around 12 sessions while children with lifelong or complex communication needs often benefit from ongoing, longer-term therapy and review.
We review every child’s goals and progress every 12 weeks to ensure therapy remains effective and relevant.
Definitely, we want you there! We encourage parents and caregivers to be involved wherever possible.
Your presence helps you understand the strategies we’re using and how to support your child’s communication goals at home. For younger children, sessions are typically conducted with a parent or caregiver present. For older children or those working on independence and confidence, your speech pathologist may invite you in for part of the session or join you at the end to discuss progress and home practice ideas.
Every family is different and we’ll work with you to find the right balance of participation and observation to best support your child’s success.
Absolutely! We offer therapy in our clinic, at home, in preschools/day-care settings, and at schools, depending on what best supports your child.
Delivering therapy in familiar environments helps children practise their communication skills where they use them most.
We’ll discuss the best location with you during your initial assessment and coordinate with educators or carers when appropriate.
